Oh, Andrew Davies is supremely irritating. And he's definitely wrong about the Need For Explicitness. The BBC are currently adapting Lark Rise to Candleford and last night's had this incredibly sexy scene between the postmistress and the new schoolteacher that consisted of nothing more than some really very innocuous dialogue on the surface, but the acting completely sold the subtext.
