I'm sure I've had Jazz apples, but when I try to remember them I think I'm thinking of the taste of Sunrise, the variety that's sustained me over the last month -- Sunrise is an early apple and other varieties in the shops were stored old-season ones, bruised and soft.

Now apple season is properly under way and I've bought a bag of lovely 99c/kg Braeburns. Apple crumble time!
