Actually BSL is fundamentally different from ASL

Oh, I know. That's why I was so surprised when I could recognize most of the signs in this video...

I knew "Signmark"'s native language is Finnish Sign Language, rather than ASL, so I popped over to see if Finnish Sign was at all related to American Sign... And I saw that it was not.

So I figured, since the vocals were translated for an American audience, the signs must have been, too (though there's at least one instance where it's clear English is not the native tongue of the singer and/or translator: with the line at the end of the first verse: "Fingers tied when I see you solemnly swear" -- that's not like any English idiom I've ever heard. I would say that as "fingers crossed ..."
