This is one I read not so long ago so I actually remembered it! Yeah, it definitely got my creep-tastic aerials buzzing with all the paedophillic overtones. Though I am wondering if that is a modern reading of the situation because at least in Victorian times it has been fairly established that to make interactions more 'innocent' the ages of participants were dropped lower and lower. Older children were seen as more of at risk of being victims of improper relationships so extreme youth was used as a shield to this interpretation.

I do know there is an amazingly large gap of time between the Grimm tale's origins and the Victorian understanding but then marriageable age was much lower. 100% agree on the modern view creep factor though! glad you changed the ages
