Introducing a new catagory of posts

In order to "keep on the sunny side," and avoid what might become a spin into self-generated depression, I've decided to create a new tag, and prod myself into being more pro-fun than I've been of late.

So here it is: 5 Good Things, wherein I will post a list of five good things about one particular subject. Sometimes, the thing will be obvious, like "Chocolate," or "Doctor Who, serial ___," or "Art." Sometimes, the thing will be more random, and challenging. Today, I'll start with:

    My Bedroom
  1. Occasionally, I run into my bed with my wheelchair, when I'm hurrying to the phone, and, over time, it gets shifted out of place. Yesterday, I managed to shift it back into place, using the "Bulldoser Method." This really is yayful -- a successful blow against entropy.

  2. I guess Al Gore's message of each of us doing our part to conserve energy struck home with the neighbors behind me, because it's been months since they've kept their high-wattage security light burning all night (which shines right through the sliding glass door in my room). I sleep better in the dark, really.

  3. I have a print of Edward Hick's 1846 version of The Peaceable Kingdom hanging on the wall opposite my bed (the icon with this post is a detail from it), so I can see it before I go to sleep, and when I wake up every day. It hung in my bedroom back when I was still sleeping in my baby crib, too. Mother always said it reflected our family philosophy: Animals and children in the foreground, and grownups doing legal business stuff way in the background. That perspective still strikes me as about right. :-) (one day, if I can find an online image that doesn't crop it ridiculously, I may do a 5 Good Things list about this particular picture).

  4. My bedroom is where I have entertaining dreams. This morning, I had a multidoc story with Docs Four through Eight (at least), and Daleks that had evolved a sophicated sense of sarcasm and snarky humor.

  5. My cat, Amanda, does her cuddling with me in bed, and when I start to pull up the blankets, she'll pounce on them to help me arrange them. And if I pull the covers over my head before she gets there, she'll try to pull the quilt back with her paw, and peek over the edge to make sure it's me. :-)

1. Heh.
2. Yay! Could you get them to speak to my neighbours?
3. Ah, continuity.
4. Well done your subconscious, hee.
5. :-)

I know you're doing this for you but I'd be interested to know five good things about your favourite wild animal sometime.

Ahh, that is a great list. I have been trying to post good lists more often as well. So happy about your neighbours lights, I find it really much easier to sleep in dark. This is the first house I've been in where my room has a window onto street lights, it's very odd.

I love that you dream sarcastic daleks:)

Yes!! I used to do this on a semi regular basis, because I got into exactly that kind of funk, where I would post about cynical or bad things, all the time!

Thank you for sharing the good things.:)
