Today was... a day... sort of... I think... Because of the heavy rain, it never got brighter than twilight, so I was living in the twilight zone today.... literally. Only it wasn't as wierd as the press releases all say. Except it was like time had stopped. had breakfast, and then never felt hungry for the rest of the day -- not even a smidge... according to my metabolism, 6 hours might just have easily been half an hour.

As a matter of fact, I didn't get hungry at all, until my cat crawled into my lap and started purring. Then the hunger turned on like I switch. I think she holds time in her body. She's a magic cat, you know... :-) How would that be for a Doctor Who episode?

I'd planned, when I'd gone to bed early this morning, to spend today working on a couple of visual arts projects that have self-imposed deadlines on them... but it was so dark all day I never really felt like it.

So I spent the day working on my Yule Carol, which now has its own website, here: http://personalpages.tds.net/~jeric/raiseup.htm , even though I don't think it's done, yet. You see, there's a woman who works with a church (Unitarian Universalist) choir, and knows a lot about what a choir needs to be able to sing something, or at least, a lot more than I know. And she pointed out that the last half-line of the song: "Let sweet song fill the air!" is a killer to sing because what you're actually singing is: "Leh Tsweet..." And that "Tsw" sound is really awkward and tounge-twistery.

There are lots of options for "fixing" that part of the song, but each one has a different impact on the rest of it, so I was fiddling around trying a few... and that's what I did today.

In the meantime, I've signed up on this same music forum to take part in "Secret Santa by postal mail" thing, and I got a few usable details to figure out what my person wants... but only a few. Most of the helpful stuff didn't come from the survey he answered, but from going back and reading his old posts. The one thing I've learned about him for sure is he has a goofy sense of humor, and doesn't take much seriously.

It'd be easier if he were the deep, philosophical type, 'cause then, I could send him a quote from a poem inspired by something he'd written painted onto a coffee cup, or something. Instead, I have to come up with something goofy and original... I've got a kind of half idea, but I don't know if it'll last for a whole idea. So that's my project for tomorrow.

Hold me to that, guys! Ask me how my idea turned out.... If I know you're gonna ask, I'll have to work on it... right?

Right!
