Well, got my Art Garden piece finished up (just the same, but I broke it up into lines of poetry) and submitted... and the editor liked it. ... She also said that they're going to invite writers to bring stuff they've written to sell, and that I could sell anything I want (not just Art Garden stuff) and keep whatever dough I make... don't know that I will though, it just means more decisions.

Meanwhile, everybody still says they really like my carol, but one person keeps telling me the last line is hard to sing -- that the rhythm is funky. I wouldn't let one person's opinion sway me so much, usually, since she is the only one saying anything about it... but she's a choir director, so her opinion is a lot more educated than mine, and as I've said here before, I don't have a strong sense of rhythm at all.

One thing she said last night is that she was trying to clap along with the song as she sang it, and that in the last line, it switched from a 3/4 beat to a 4/4 beat... The idea of trying to clap along with a song like that just never occurred to me (unless it's a real "foot stomper")... I've just never heard the beat of a song like that... I hear the rhythm of the syllables in the lyrics or I hear the beat, but not both.... I tried to clap along with the song, myself, just to see what she meant, and I couldn't do it...I kept clapping along with the syllables instead... and the thought occurred to me that maybe that's why I can not walk and talk at the same time: my body looses the beat ;-).

So anyway, those were the big plays of the last couples days...

Hey, I'm a poet and I don't -- oh, wait... I do. heheh... never mind ;)
