The personal touch I added was a homemade bookmark, with the following message:
The three sweetest fruits on the tree of life:
Good tales to tell
Good songs to sing
Good friends to love.
May your life bear all three in abundance.
With a stylized image of a tree in the background.
It was nice... didn't come out exactly as I had it in mind, but then again, it hardly ever does... and if I fussed about much longer, it wouldn't get to my santee on time...
So I took a bit of advice from my father, and didn't let the best get in the way of the good, and sent it off.
In the meantime, I'm putting my Mother Goose Book (a Christmas/Yule crossover story starring the characters from Mother Goose rhymes) in a charity auction, so I tried to upload a fresh version of it to Kinkos to print out... but their computer told me it was too fat for any type of binding ... all of 24 pages, total, double sided -- so 12 pieces of paper... you think so? Not.
So I'll try again Monday, when there will be someone in the local branch I can call if it goes screwy again...
Meanwhile, as I was typing this, my kittle cat Trixie crawled into my lap and started making lovey eyes at me... :-)
