In other news, I woke up to the sound of Canada geese flying overhead -- flying north already? Yeesh!
Most bird guide books I've read say that Canada geese don't usually fly this far south, anyway -- there are extensive commericial cornfields in Maryland (I know, I've riden past them on my trips between here and New York) -- so they have enough food living off the stubble and spilled grain without having to fly any farther south. But maybe, after the brutality of last year's winter, some of them decided to head farther south anyway, and now, they're getting a jump start on the return trip...
The sun definitely seems brighter and more sure of itself than it did a week ago...
