:::Sigh::: Can't even get a dream date...

Had a dream this morning: I was hosting a party of some sort, and was having a conversation in some detail on a subject that I don't remember, now... One of my male guests pulls me aside, and says:

"You know, it really turns guys off when you get all pedantic, like that."

And I answer: (Sigh) "You're probably right. It's just that there was this guy I went to high school with, and I had a kind of crush on him, and he was really intellectual. And I think I'm trying to find someone like that, again, so I try to attract them..."

And then I realize, before my explaination is over, that my dream critic has lost interest and has gone to talk to someone else...

And then I woke up, thinking: "typical! Story of my life..."

[edit: one thing this dream did do, was remind me of the person I kind of had a crush on -- my dream self was picturing him clearly during my explaination... I haven't thought of him in years. Last I saw him, he was newly graduated with a Masters in Theology, and was living near D.C. I'm pretty sure he's married by now. Oh -- and the last time I saw him? he looked a little like Peter Davison...]
