Nifty sci-fi quiz
Mar. 23rd, 2006 02:56 pm(with the emphesis on the sci-half of that).
Last night, and again this afternoon, I watched a special on PBS about exploring space, looking for the possibility of life beyond Earth. Most of it was okay, but the niftiest part was a brief section on Joel(?) Hagan, an artist for NASA who does renderings of planets' landscapes. Taking the scientific informartion we're getting about different life-forms on earth, and extraterrestrial environments, he's begun imagining what alien life might look like.
Here is a page that has two interactive quizzes based on his artwork: Europa and Mars. I took the Europa one, and got all of them right (yay, me)! I'm about to go back and do the Mars one now.
His pictures are shiny, and if I were organizing a skiffy con, I'd invite him as a keynote speaker. :::Nods:::
