Sort of along the lines of one of those "Which Doctor Who Companion Are You?" memes*, but with real people and real questions...
The first part asks you to rate a series of issues based on how important they are to you, the second part gives you questions to answer based on those issues, and the third part tells you which top three candidates you most closely align with, based on actual things they've said and actual votes they've cast.
GlassBooth, Election 2008 (I figured it might be kind of fun for the Non-Merkins on my f'list to take this test, too, so they can know the players).
I took the test twice. The first time, I rated "Foreign Policy" as most important, and the second time, I rated "the Enviroment" as most important. Both times, I got Dennis Kucinich as my first match, and Mike Gravel as my second match.
Now, I love Kucinich, I think he's a sweetheart. And the few times I've actually gotten a chance to hear his position on things, I've loved what he has to say... But I just don't think he has the right temperment to be president. I would squee to the high heavens, though, if whoever does get elected puts him in a cabinet position, somewhere.
Mike Gravel, I haven't heard of before today.
When I chose forein policy as my number one issue, it gave me John Edwards as my third match. And when I chose the environment as my number one issue, it gave me Barack Obama as my third match. ... These are the two I've been debating between, anyway. Though, after the Democrat debate, I'm leaning more toward Obama, because Edwards struck me as too angry and shouty.
*And, just like those memes, the results may strike you as dodgy, because, hey, the nature of the beast is to oversimplify. Unlike one of those memes, however, it fails to give you a code for posting your results to your LJ in a pretty way. So you'll just have to take the quiz for yourself.
