Whoa! sudden memory
Feb. 7th, 2008 04:24 pmListening to NPR news, just now, explaining about the Democrat delegate count, and why no one can say what the count actually is, I had a sudden memory that my mother ran to be a delegate herself, and actually won, iirc. It was a county election (or maybe congressional district), and we were living in the smallest county in the state... and Mother got 1,000 votes!
I know it wasn't 1984, because we were together on election night, watching the results from Mondale's local campaign center. It wasn't 1992, because she died in 1991...
Which means it might have been 1980, when I was 16, and still in high school, or 1988, when I was in college. ... I'm kind of leaning toward the latter, because I was living on campus, and I think I would have remembered more clearly (and sooner) if I'd been home with Father while she was away at the convention....
Anyway, now you know I'm a partisan, Geek!Democrat... Or is that Democrat!Geek?
