For the record: These're projects I actually enjoy, and have fun doing, when I get a head of steam going and actually do them. But I often fall victim to my own inertia, and I'm looking for suggestions on how to keep the mental/emotional fires stoked.

Think of this post as being in the same category as: "looking for advice on keeping up an exercise routine." Or: "looking for new recipes to keep my diet healthy and varied." I'm not secretly asking for "permission to give these up," because I don't want to give these up.

Anyway, the results were unanimous. [livejournal.com profile] alto2, [personal profile] jesse_the_k and [personal profile] pebblerocker all said that lapsed time is no real barrier, and I should just that should just leap back in.

Regarding [community profile] what_if, the consensus was go ahead and play my own game; [personal profile] pebblerocker suggested maybe altering the guidelines/rules, and I'm contemplating doing that (maybe [?] taking out the requirement that people post the stories in their own journals, or... something).

[livejournal.com profile] alto2 made the rather good point that the blog title Treasures of the Heart was confusing -- that it made her think that it was a family nostalgia blog (*shudder* ick. A quote from some context I don't remember clearly: "I don't trust nostalgia; looking back is fine, but it's not nice to stare..." And I know too much of family dynamics to put a rosy-golden haze over everything). So I went ahead and changed it to "Once upon a time (like a ship upon the sea)", and I changed the description to a song verse I wrote once, that includes the phrase "treasures of the heart."

But -- once a Blogger blog is established, it turns out you can't change the url; one reply in the faq section said that it actually leaves the old url in place, and open to anyone to spam and take over, including dodgy porn-posters. The suggestion was, that if you really wanted to change the name of your blog -- if it was that important to you, you should start a brand new one, and link to it in the old one, with a note saying you've moved.

So -- Should I do that? Especially if I shift the focus and direction?

Or -- Is changing the title and description enough?

*ponder, ponder*

*puzzlement, puzzlement*
