capri0mni: A black Skull & Crossbones with the Online Disability Pride Flag as a background (question)
Do you
A) seek out the offender, to listen to it again, and try to get over the hump (so to speak)

B) Seek out a completely different sound / song, to try and drive it out

C) Inflict it on your friends, in the hopes that once it infects their brains, it will leave yours alone

D) Scream.

E) Other.

PS. You know I have insomnia, because I stopped to make a new icon just for this post, before I even wrote it... :-/

These are the two (2) offenders -- playing simultaneously off each other. I'm thinking, maybe if I post them here, and then write out the lyrics while I play them bit by bit, I can break their hold. Here goes nothing:

Mama, Looka Boo-Boo (Harry Belafonte and Danny Kaye)

lyrics )

So that's a song about domestic violence. ...But it's jolly, and no blows ever actually land? And Belefonte and Kaye get in sync well...
Vive L'amour (Chicago Gay Men's Chorus)

lyrics )

(this is a choral arrangement done in 1961, and it's the predominant arrangement on YouTube, because the sheet music is readily available, and inexpensive, and sold to school music programs. But it's too "Concert-y" for my taste -- too many frills and flourishes, rather than a song you can belt out for the fun of it, and make up your own verses to, etc. The song, itself, dates back to American and British colleges / fraternities in the earlyish-mid-1800s, when French and Greek was a standard part of university education. So although French is strong in the lyrics, it actually has nothing to do with France)

...And now, I have a headache. It's three hours after I started righting this post...
