Yesterday, the first of my daffodills opened up all the way.
Fragment of a dream, I woke up remembering this morning:
A preacher/motivational speaker type person telling a crowd (of which I was a member) telling us to hang suns from the highest rafters of our houses, as a sign of hope..... And then, an image of all these globes of golden light suspended in the attics of houses, right under the peak of the roofs [an aerial shot, like in a movie, with the lights stretching off to the horizen in all directions].
... An image of of one of the "suns" being revealed as the glowing head of an angel.
... Someone (perhaps me) commenting that they weren't real suns, but manmade.
... Being answered that that doesn't matter -- it's the hope that matters.
---
Interesting thing about the angel: I'm not Christian, I don't usually think with that iconography, and I think that thought skimmed through my mind in the dream (or just as I was waking up... hard to tell).
I think it was my mind's visual shorthand for the idea that each sun is an individual entity with the quality of person-ness. And if each sun is a sign of hope, than each bit of hope is also an individual entity with the quality of person-ness.
---
I read somewhere, years ago, that some believe that every living thing has its own angel -- even each blade of grass has its own angel who watches over it, and whispers: "Grow!"
Nice.
Anyway, that was one dream I didn't want to forget....
