Poll time!
Feb. 16th, 2007 07:54 pmBen and Jerry's (A gourmet American Ice Cream company that makes unusual and wacky-named ice creams) used to have a chocolaty-orange icecream called "Pulp Addiction," but they discontinued it before I got a chance to taste some (boo, them!!). Frankly, I think it was the "pulp" in the name -- many Americans don't like orange pulp in their orange juice, and they might have been afraid there were pulpy bits in the ice cream.
Anyway, when I'm stressed out, at night, I calm myself down by thinking up recipes, and Ben and Jerry's has a "Suggest-a-flavor" Form! So I got to thinking, last night, of different ways they could/should try mixing orange and chocolate together, again, and I dreamt up a few combonations.
so: poll time!
[Poll #929029]
[eta: I can't edit the poll, now that it's posted, but I thought of another name for the first flavor idea, a second variation on "golden rocky road": Road to El Dorado (which, I believe is also a movie title). Whatcha think?]

Date: 2007-02-17 07:48 pm (UTC)Let's see, (checks the description in the "flavor graveyard") ... orange ice cream swirled together with chocolate-orange ice cream, and "orange flavored brandy liquor" (probably Grand Marnier, but they couldn't use the brand name on their site).
I thought about going to the flavor ressurector... but then again, I like chocolate chunks in my ice cream
And if it's the name that puts people off (as I suspect) bringing that same name back won't make it any more successful the second time around, especially since the referring movie is no longer the hippesst thing in our culture, at the mo'.
