Funny (as in strange) thing, tech-wise:
You know what I wish word processors came with? A word count timer -- like an egg timer is for minutes, this would be for words. You put a preset number of words as your goal (like, say: 667, for Skrenzy, or 1,667, for NaNo), and the computer would ding at you when you've typed your goal number. I waste more time, as I near my goal, pausing to check my word count, it's not even slightly amusing. The last 250 words were worse than pulling teeth:
A word count dinger would free me up from that habit (especially if it were designed so reset/stop counting if I checked my word count manually).
Just sayin'.

- I'm writing this screenplay with a preformatted template for Open Office, full of macros.
- For wordcount validation, this go 'round, instead of uploading a .txt file, as in NaNo, we're asked to copy and paste our whole text into a text window -- it can hold about a 1,000,000 words (which is 50 -?- whole scripts).
- When I copy and paste my text with macros enabled, Skrenzy's official word counter counts fewer words than Open Office's counter (on the order of a fraction of one percent). But when I open the document with the macros disabled, Skrenzy's official counter counts more words than Open Office. Not complaining, mind, but: Buh-wha? I find this totally counterintuitive.
