My PBS Station aired the series "Simon Schama's Power of Art," Monday nights from June 18 through July 30 (I was quite disapointed, this last Monday, when I didn't get a teaser for the next program).
The last program, on Mark Rothko, may have inspired Today's NaArt, just a bit.
I'm sorry I didn't rave about it while it was running, but here is a multi-media, interactive, website that hits the series' main points (and it's fairy gentle on broadband, too, considering):

I woke up at the ridiculously early hour of 6 am. And so I caught an old episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. And what was Mister Rogers talking about today, Internet Neighbor? Why, all the different ways you can share what's inside you through art -- whether it's with a dance, or a painting, or a poem, or clay...
It's a conspiracy of the Universe, I tells ya!! :-)

they had a room to themselves. i sat in front of them for at least a half hour, just drinking them in.
it's like being in church, but the religion has no name and no words, because words and names cannot begin to encompass the whole.
