And it sounds like someone idiot is firing a rifle off, in celebration of the new year -- as Brig would say: five rounds rapid.

Well to be fair, I'm not even sure I know what a rifle going off sounds like... but it's loud, and it sure doesn't sound like fireworks I've heard before.... :-/

I was originally planning on going to bed early, so I could be sound asleep at midnight, and not be woken up by the explosions... But the random, amateur popping noises started around ten.

At this rate, I might as well stay up until after the official show is over. More likely to have quiet, after that...


I got all of two hours sleep, in the wee hours of the morning, today.. I'll wish everyone a joyous new year after I'm rested...

Ah... there are the official whizzes and booms...

Out with the old, in with the new... and all that.

I dod -- slept almost ten hours (waking up and drifting back to sleep), though that also included some pretty intense dreams... May write about those later...
