I'm not just going ticky-mad; I do truly love all of these. They're my favorite set of playthings in my linguistic toybox.

They are all wonderful toys. But it is true that there are some I tend to play with less often then others.

Meiosis, for example. It was fun to call our most recent former president "Shrub." But I don't like to make a daily habit of that kind of thing. And I have to be careful not to overdo hyperbole.

But I love synecdoche; it just tickles me to visualize something like "Number 10 Downing Street made a call to the White House, this evening" literally.
