When we arrived, my aide and I found the door to the bathroom was broken (the door handle came off in my aide's hand, and the door was locked from the inside). It took over half and hour for the hotel to send someone from Maintainace to fix it; there were no other suitable rooms availabe for us).

The best thing I could say about the room is that it was bedbug-free.

When we arrived, we found the bathroom door was broken and locked from the inside; it took over half an hour for the hotel to send someone from Maintainance to open it.

The furniture was too big for the room, leaving barely any space for two people to move around each other. And the "Wheelchair accessible" bathroom could only be used independently by someone with a moderate ability to stand on their own (the grab bars were fold-down, and did not lock into place, and there was not enough room to steer a small motorized wheelchair).

The window had only a single sheer curtain, with no way to close the drapes; a high-watt secruity light shone directly into our room.

There was no way to change the settings on the television-- such as turning on closed captioning.

The food at the hotel resteraunt was passable, but overpriced.

The electronic room keys malfunctioned.

As a disabled customer, I need to be certain that the SPECIFIC ROOM I book will have the accomodations I need, and not simply that some of the rooms in the hotel have some of the accomodations.

The Hotels.com website failed to provide any of this information. Therefore, I called the toll-free number, and talked to an agent, who assured me that I would have a wheelchair accessible room. However, when I later called the hotel directly, to confirm the reservation, I found out that this was not the case.

I MIGHT recommend the website for able-bodied friends, especially if they are traveling to a destination they've never been to, before. But I would actively discourage disabled friends and colleagues from using your service.

ARGH!

I'm glad you're home safely and the hotel's inadequacies didn't ruin your whole trip.
