Today,
trouble posted a link to this article: Service Dog etiquette for Dog Lovers, and it reminded me of this PSA from the Norwegian Association for the Blind (With English Subtitles):
Scene 1: A bricklayer is on his hands and knees, repairing the sidewalk. Two little old ladies walk by, ogle his ass and one says, loud enough for him to hear: "Oh, What a cutie! Ooh!"
Scene 2: A woman at the checkout of a grocery store, watching the clerk swipe her items across the bar code reader. As the clerk swipes each Item, the woman exclaims, in a baby talk voice: "Well done! Well done!"
Scene 3: A man and a small boy are riding on a public bus down the highway. The man starts throwing balls at the driver. Man: "Here, catch! Come on, Catch!" The driver is forced to take his eyes off the road, as a ball lands in his lap.
Scene 4: Two workers are carrying a very large plate glass window. A passerby grabs one of the men and starts hugging and fondling him, knocking him off balance. Passerby: "Ah... Good Boy! Good Boy!"
Scene 5: A railyard. A woman is watching the signalman directing trains. She jumps up suddenly and grabs his flag. Woman: "Let go! Let go!" She throws the flag several yards away, forcing the signalman to run over and pick it up. [overtitle: Please don't disturb the ones working]
Scene 6: A service dog in vest and handler, viewed at the dog's eye view. The handler picks up the handle on the vest, and crosses the street. [overtitle: Vest On = Working]
