I always feel the urge to spell "typos" as "typoes" but I'm never sure how many people will get the joke and how many will merely presume I'm dim (I don't mind people who do get the joke thinking I'm dim for the terrible pune, obv).

Feminists are often accused of being prudes, as are asexuals, so I suppose my assumption is that some people who could be characterised as "more prudish than average for their community" aren't automatically "terrible", yes. There are some things my society seems to regard as normative, such as pre-teen girls wearing Playboy branded clothes, that I disapprove of so I could perhaps claim to be an Ethical Prude?

Although I'm definitely not an ethical or unethical prune no matter how much of my bodyweight consists of actual prunes. ;-)

I often genuinely can't remember which one is right, so I confidently pick one at random and assume people will think it's a clever joke if it's wrong.

But if one is more prudish than average then one is, by at least one reasonable definition, a prude. And I see no reason to reject "prude" or "prudishness" merely because haters use it as an insult, especially when I likewise wouldn't reject "slutty" or "bitchy" or similar It's Only Bad When Women Do It terms. Sometimes I act prudishly, sometimes I dress sluttily, sometimes I speak bitchily, and as long as I'm not having a significant negative impact then it ain't nobody's business but mine. :-)
