The other day, I was playing around with Ball on a string, which I nabbed from the loverly [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse, and my cat, Trixie caught sight of it. LIke Noki, she was much confused, trying to grab the ball through the glass screen.

Then, she did something I did not expect. She stood up on her hind legs, on the desk, and tried to see inside the computer from the top, to see if she could reach in and grab hold of the ball that way.

Is it just me? or is this understanding of spatial relationships unusual in cats (or has anyone even thought to study this)?

Oscar used to have a habit of going round the back of the telly to see if the DVD we'd just inserted into the front of the DVD player would come out the other side. :)

LOL!

Or maybe she was trying to figure out how the little people got inside the tv box... ???

(I remember wondering how people got in the tv. myself)

My old cat, Robin, was too smart for his own good sometimes. He loved paper bags, and would go in them if I left them on the floor. When I made noise on the outside of the bag, though, he would come out and grab my hand instead of batting it from the inside as I usually see cats do. Spoilsport! ;)

Robin was not too smart for his own good; he was too smart for yours. ;-)

Well, I still think he would've had more fun playing inside the bag. ;)

He also liked to be swung around in a basket. It was his version of an amusement park. :)

He was a great cat; I miss him still.
