And God waited until after Doctor Who was over before answering the door, and letting the Pope in. This is proof to me that he likes the disestablishmentarian better than the antidisestablishmentarian.

Are you familiar with Doctor Who, at all? Because if not, I thik you should be... I'm not one for proselytizing, but... in this case....

Yes, I actually am! However, I have never actually watched it. Went so far as to get the DVD, but never made time to sit down and view it (for shame!)

I will consider this an assignment!

Which DVD? It was actually a 26-season sci-fi show (longest continuous in tv history) before the TV movie... Some of it, naturally, is better than the other bits.

Started in 1963, and ran *almost* continuously until 1989. Many fans didn't like the TVM at all because it was so different than the basic series. But now, after 16 years, it's back on proper television (in Britian, at least), and there was much rejoicing on my flist.

Then, there was much moaning when the lead actor announced he wouldn't be back for the second season.

But still.

No moaning from me (hey, if I can't see it here in the US, it technically isn't going to affect my life -- plus, it's his decision and I'm happy he was here for the re-beginnings)!

you can always beg and/or borrow a dvd from British, Canadian, or NZ friends, you know... (for my part, the new DW is what is finally prompting to put a regionless DVD player on my Must Have list, so I can get the dvds of the show when the BBC releases them).

Then, I will rearrange my great room, so I can hide behind the futon... ;-)

LOL -- okay. NOW I understand. I mixed up Dr. Strangelove and Dr. Who. *tsk, tsk*

I'm still giving it to you as an assignment, though, because I think this world would be a better place if there were more Doctor Who fans in it...

For the central character is a disestablishmentarian, and he saves the day with a teaspoon and an open mind, traveling through space-time in a broken-down ship that's as dangerous as an old gas stove.

Yup!

And Doctor Strangelove is really good, too!
