First, the Wierdness (long story short): My computer is acting funky and slow, so I decide to reboot in safe mode and run disk defragmentor, even though I defragged only two weeks ago... but when I go to open the program, I discover the program is not loaded on my hard drive (wtf?). When I go through the add/delete routine, I discover it's it's not listed among the programs available (WTF?!?) and that I will have to download it from the Web... Where the #$@!!#?@!?@!!! did it go?

Secondly, my PBS is changing its Saturday evening line-up of British comedies. It used to start the evening with "As Time Goes By," but starting tonight, it will now start with "My Hero," which I've heard of, but never seen. Is it any good, you folkses what have seen it? They've gotten rid of the drek "Open all Hours" (hooray). But they've replaced "Coupling" with a double dose of "Eastenders" (waaah).

All in all, my world is quite disturbed, tonight...

My Hero left me completely cold from the few episodes I saw, just didn't work for me. But then again, I love Open All Hours, so what do I know? :P

I have hope that at least "My Hero" is about an alien from an alien-type planet. This is the first glimpse of sci-fi ever on my PBS station, down here... and I hope it will open the way for other British scifi things. ::Smiles knowingly and crosses fingers::

I don't know... there's just something I don't get about "Open"... mostly, the obviously middle-aged, wrinkly actor who is trying to play some kind of teenager, followed closely by so much of the humor dependant on a stutter.

I will miss "Coupling," though. That had been the highlight of my television week for the last couple of years.

Still can't figure out what happened to my defrag program, or why my windows 98 is (kinda, sorta)claiming it was never meant to be installed on the computer in the first place. My machine came loaded with it, and like I said, I used it just two weeks ago...

Oh and no firm idea about the computer stuff. Look for C:\Windows\system32\defrag.exe that's where mine is.

Find files named: defrag.exe

Result: 0 files found.

Like I said: WTF?!?

I haven't seen Open All Hours yet, but I'm a big Ronnie Barker fan and intend to see it eventually. :-)

It may just be my quirky sense of humor that prevented me from getting it at all... I didn't really get "Everybody Loves Raymond," either, and that's my Dad's favorite sitcom, of late.
