Thanks for the book, it must have arrived with some of the other stuff and Simon hid it away and it's funny because I read about the book somewhere in the last week or so and thought it sounded interesting (possibly on BoingBoing.net, I forget) so I was like "ooh!" when I opened it because when I felt the parcel i thought "Small hardback book, it'll mebbe be one of the new Doctor Who novels" but it wasn't and this is even better so yay!

Yeah. My dad and I thought it sounded like an interesting book, too. Dad first read a review of it in The New Yorker, and told me about it, and I thought of you... And then, when I couldn't get Amazon to ship you a Pirate Captain's hat in time for your birthday, I thought you might like this, instead.

I'm so glad my hunch was right.

(and I've decided that friends' birthdays are more for me, then them. ... I'd much rather celebrate small, personal holidays than big, impersonal ones)
