Went to the library today...

It'd had been so long since my last visit, my library card had expired (I didn't know it could do that -- but it makes sense). Lucky for me, they let me take the books out anyway. I'll just have to bring i.d. with me when I return them.

Anyway, there was a display near the checkout desk for the adult summer reading program. The slogan was "Books: the other channel" and it featured a portable tv festooned with fake cobwebs, and a rubber spider. In front of the t.v. was a little placard that read: Television is not a prize.

It made me laugh. Yes, I am easily amused.

May post a review of the two books, after I've read them.

That was a very clever display! Librarians are cool. I have a couple of friends who are librarians. :)

well, what amused me was the idea that someone would turn in their book log at the end of the summer period and say: "I read the most books! Can I have that tv now?"
