Yes, I'm still here....
Jan. 18th, 2003 02:13 pmAmazing: It snowed Thursday night into the wee hours of Friday morning -- not just flurries -- snow. It mixed with rain before it ended, but there was enough so that there are large patches of snow still on the ground as I type this. And there have been two other times that we had flurries that stuck to the ground since Christmas.
They're saying this is normal for an el niƱo year, but I was in this exact same spot for the last one, and back then, we got maybe one or two periods of flurries in February -- not three in December/January.... and it's been hoving around freezing during the day for a week or so...
So...
This is wierd.
In other news:
I'm continuing to work on my new year's resolution to write fiction every day... I think only one day has gone by so far where I haven't at least written something down, even if it is only one scene... Of course, knowing that there is someone out there waiting for the finished result (:::Waves to http://www.livejournal.com/users/alryssa/::: Hi, sweetie, it's coming!) helps me keep at it.
I've also recently joined a pagan-based mailing list with over 800 members... during slow periods, they have about 20-30 posts a day... this is not one of their slow periods, so keeping ahead of all the reading is also taking up a lot of my time.
And today is the last day of my Birthday Octave celebration. I plan to observe it by polishing off the sweets I got at Christmas, enjoy a certain Doctor Who novel (thanks http://www.livejournal.com/users/gordon_r_d/), and maybe order some decadant take-out for dinner -- with desert!

Date: 2003-01-18 08:31 pm (UTC)Incidentally - this is how you point to other LJ users:
<lj user="gordon_r_d"> will give you
It's easier to type :)
thanks for the tip...
Date: 2003-01-18 09:51 pm (UTC)Well, I didn't actually type it all in -- I just copied and pasted...
BTW, I don't see 'lj' in the allowed html list below... but I do see 'li' -- what's that stand for?
And ooh! "Marquee"!
That could be fun!
