You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. (You have an extensive vocabulary)*, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

* Really, I don't think this test even approaches the extent of a person's vocabulary; all the words are common, everyday ones. It does, however, measure the accuracy of a person's usage.

I could count on the fingers of one hand the questions that I had to stop and think about.

It disturbs me that this is somehow unusual.

Yes. Especially since so many of the rules are simple ones for making yourself clear to others.

I agree with you both... 99% of it seemed so silly to me... I had to stop and think about the spelling of stationery and stationary, but that's about it that I can remember. *sigh*

Reminder to self... the world as a whole is becoming more and more uneducated, and I must do my part to combat this.

:)

Of course, it doesn't help that American news anchors, who are supposed to represent accuracy and truth, say "more importantly," and use who/whom and I/me incorrectly.

They used to be sticklers when it came to language, if I am remembering my childhood correctly. But then I bet the station big wigs got worried that they weren't "connecting with the American Public," and told them they had to sound more "down home."

I try not to mind language evolution. But this is no vowel shift, here, it's clarity.
