It is nearly three am...
Oct. 23rd, 2005 02:47 amAnd this is my first time on the computer today since yesterday (Well, okay, I did read my f'list before posting this, but for all intents and purposes, you know).
Why, you may ask?
Because I was busy doing non-computer stuff, namely: sewing up a pair of the moccasin patterns my aide cut out for me. For most people, this would probably be an hour project, but I keep dropping needles, and stuff, and have to use a grabber thingy just like this one to pick them up again. Also, I was kinda watching tv at the same time.
Anyway, I'm now almost completely finished with one pair -- I have to sew a tie onto one, and paint non-skid patterns on the bottoms. And then I really will have a pair of warm, cozy moccs I can wear out in public with minimum embarrassment. In other words, they actually look vaguely shoe like, and less like kiddie pajama feet.
Also (and this is the best bit): I can actually put them on one-handed, using that same grabber thingy, all by myself! This means can keep them as seperate pieces, instead of sewing them onto the bottoms of sweatpants. This means the two pair I already have patterns for will probably get me through the whole winter, and I can keep my feet warm without turning my house into a sauna.
This is very yayful.
So -- any suggestions on what sort of pattern I should put on the soles?
I crash in bed, now.

Date: 2005-10-23 04:07 pm (UTC)The biggest problem is that the needles fall onto a sorta stained, darkish blue burbur carpet, and I have to find them before I can pick them up. This is not quite as hard as finding them in a haystack, but I'd say it runs a close second.
Actually, I was thinking of a diamond pattern for the bottoms, so I could be like that Paul Simon song. ;-) But I may just go with random zig-zags and squiggles -- after all, my first priority is surefootedness, my second priority is ease of design, and cuteness is only third priority.
