After a day of thinking about it, I started to realize that I was getting anxious over the idea of reviving my old, freaky short story. And anxiety is antithetical to this whole project.
So -- with a week to go, I've decided to forget about the one idea I had. Instead of fixating on an image, or any one character or belief, I'm going to come up with the title first, and see what comes out of it.
We did this with the Play Central Study, at Poughkeepsie Day School. Imagine, if you will: thirty teenagers, each writing their own character into a musical, with nothing to go on, in the beginning, but a title.
It was great fun. I want this project to be fun.
I just need a title...
Off to some lucid dreaming, and see if something comes to me. If nothing does, I'll steal a line from a random Mother Goose rhyme (or something).
