The Mars rover "Spirit" landed on Mars on January 3rd, 2004. The rover "Opportunity" landed shortly afterward.

All the experts told us that the life expectancy of these brave little robots was 90 days. ... 730 days later, they're both still going. Maybe they're not going as strong as they were when they were young (arthitis in a shoulder joint, and a bum wheel), but they are still going.

Kinda nice, I think...

If they started in 2003, then that means they\ve been going for 1099 days - 2 normal years (both 365 days) and 1 leap year (366 days).

Which would be even better.
