(when sunshine is depressing)
Mar. 14th, 2006 11:25 pmA confession: All winter long, I was jealous of folks on my f'list who were complaining about the rain and snow they had to endure. Here, we had a freakishly cold December than it got freakishly warm in January, and has, for the most part, stayed that way... I longed for rainy days all winter... I love the sound of the rain, and rainy mornings are the best, because it's easy to sleep in... But instead, we had no snow (or rain) to speak of all winter... it's only March, and we're all ready over 5" into a drought for the year... two local swamps are dry, and there have been big fires in the news almost every night for two weeks... I just got off watching the evening news, and three local brushfires topped the headlines, tonight. And according to the weather personality, it will continue to be dry and very windy all through till Saturday.
Sunshine can be damned oppressive, you know? Even the new spring grass here looks as thirsty as it usually does in July.
