capri0mni: A black Skull & Crossbones with the Online Disability Pride Flag as a background (Teapot!)
In a reply to a recent post, [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse requested a filk about the Doctor's spectacles (the things he wears on his face, not the mad antics he engages in to make a spectacle of himself).

I haven't got the whole song, yet, but I have an idea. I was thinking of writing a riff on the American saying: "Boys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses." And while I don't know what the heck I'll say about the Doctor's specs, in the verses, I think the chorus came to me this morning:

Oh, there once was a Timelord from Gally
Who drew squees from both Mary and Sally
But they both liked it best
When he put on his specs.
Oh, that wonderful Timelord from Gally.

Okay, so as I understand it (and the way it's always worked in the past), if you're the only person who has a particular interest listed on your profile page, it shows up in ordinary black text, like text of this here journal entry.

But if there are other people out there who share that interest, it shows up as a blue clicky (or, the term that I like: "Blickie"), like this: doctor who, so you can meet other people who like the same thing you do. Right? Right.

So, what's up with this interest I just added today: sun goddesses?

Weird...

[ETA: how disturbing is it, do you think, that there are 483 individual LiveJournal users that list Doctor Who as an interest, and 450 communities? That's almost a one to one ratio. :::Shakes head::: I still love (most of) my fandom, though]
