OMG! HappyHappy!! Joy!!

When I saw, in the online schedule for tonight's programming, that 11:30 pm would bring me "Doctor Who: Tom Baker Minis," my heart swelled with hope and glee, before the dread set in.

The dread that, maybe, "minis" meant that the stories would be horribly abridged and edited, like a modern rendition of Hamlet in one minute flat. But no. I need not fear. These poor benighted programmers just didn't know that the correct term was: "episodic format."

So I got to watch Episode One of "Robot" By Terrance Dicks (and thereby finally confirmed my suspicion that the very first episode of Doctor Who I ever stumbled upon, in the wee hours of one weekend morning, was Episode Two of the same).

So, as soon as the final credits rolled, I came in here to the computer, got online, and made a contribution, at the secod tier level, to the station (their official on-air pledge drive was over a week or so ago, but I had no desire to encourage their habit of airing Susie Orman specials ad nauseum).

I then sent them this:

One Flattering EMail )

...just doing my bit to increase the chances for Doctor Who marathons, during future pledge drives, instead of John Dyer NewAge pablum.

(And I'm only, just now, noticing my typos. *facepalm* Blame the squee)

  1. I have fallen in love with Dutched cocoa powder -- it's water soluable, so it melts right onto my tongue, without going down my windpipe. The other day, I satisfied my craving for a chocolate cookie by dropping a mini whole wheat bagal (cut side down) into a tub of the stuff, and just let the powder settle into the crevaces. It wasn't sweet, but it was rich, and not chokingly bitter

  2. The last time I was at the grocery store, I found dried sliced strawberries, without sugar. I also bought a packet of sliced swiss cheese. Realising how mild the cheese tasted (barely stronger than butter), I did an experiment, and put a layer of the dried strawberries between two slices of the cheese (as glue) in a sandwhich, and zapped it until the cheese was melted. Boy, was that good! The zapping really intensified the already concentrated flavor of the dried berries, and sweetened them: Strawberries and cream on bread. Yum!
