OMG! HappyHappy!! Joy!!
When I saw, in the online schedule for tonight's programming, that 11:30 pm would bring me "Doctor Who: Tom Baker Minis," my heart swelled with hope and glee, before the dread set in.
The dread that, maybe, "minis" meant that the stories would be horribly abridged and edited, like a modern rendition of Hamlet in one minute flat. But no. I need not fear. These poor benighted programmers just didn't know that the correct term was: "episodic format."
So I got to watch Episode One of "Robot" By Terrance Dicks (and thereby finally confirmed my suspicion that the very first episode of Doctor Who I ever stumbled upon, in the wee hours of one weekend morning, was Episode Two of the same).
So, as soon as the final credits rolled, I came in here to the computer, got online, and made a contribution, at the secod tier level, to the station (their official on-air pledge drive was over a week or so ago, but I had no desire to encourage their habit of airing Susie Orman specials ad nauseum).
I then sent them this:
( One Flattering EMail )
...just doing my bit to increase the chances for Doctor Who marathons, during future pledge drives, instead of John Dyer NewAge pablum.
(And I'm only, just now, noticing my typos. *facepalm* Blame the squee)
