The other
shoe dropping eye winking, from day 1. Done in purple watercolor pencil, this time. I'm happier with the way I caught the shadow cast by my eyelashes. But I'm unhappier with my eyebrow, and this pencil; this one had a softer "lead" (neither lead, nor graphite), and it was harder to get well-difined lines without it turning muddy.
Curiously, I was able to get a sharper picture back when I did this picture with a charcoal stick. But then again, I used an eraser to get bright highlights. Erasers don't work so well with watercolor pencils.

When I was in high school, our art teacher had us do 5 observation drawings a week. The subject could be anything we chose, but it had to be a real that was right in front of our eyes.
