Yesterday, I woke up still feeling dissatisfied with that vanilla ice cream song poster, I did. So I decided to redo it, to draw the cupid properly, by hand, and include a score with the image. I spent much of the day fiddling around on the computer, trying to get the score to look right, and by 8 of the clock, I was too tuckered to continue. I went to bed last night, and woke up this morning, planning on doing the cupid.
But when I put pencil to paper this evening, after dinner, I was feeling a distinct lack of love. So I said to myself: "To heck with it! NaArMaMo has no rules. If I don't feel the love, I'll just do something free and easy, to see what comes of it."
So I closed my eyes and did another "blind scribble" (as I did on day 21). This time, I deliberately did a really complex scribble, with lots of little shapes and tight curliques -- thinking that when I opened my eyes, I'd see lots of shapes (maybe a jungleful of animals, lurking behind trees). But when I opened my eyes, I saw, just like before one, clear, large face, dominating the page. Namely this lady:

The duck emerged as I was outlining the bottom of the old woman's skirts.
I'm wondering, now, if a single, large face will always emerge first, because face recognition is so deeply wired into our brains.
In any case, I like the two characters that showed up in my brain through this door. They have a lot of energy and personality.
