EEP! NaNoWriMo is almost here!!eleventyone!!

Last year, I waded into it with no planning whatsoever, until I got hopelessy stuck in the middle, and switched to making a checklist of scenes to complete each day. This year, I'm going to do the opposite, and plan, with an outline and everything, from the beginning. Thus, I hope to trick my brain out of the dreaded Sophomore Slump, because althogh this is my second NaNo, it's my first NaNo done this particular way. Hah!! Aren't I clever?

I am about to toddle off for a second cup of coffee, and outline-writing. But in the meantime, I want to ask: Who else on LJ is also signed up for NaNo? And would you mind if I list you as a writing buddy?

Just remember: point #1, never forget, whatever you do: Nobody cares if it's any good at all. The Only (and I do mean only job for your inner critic is to count words.

If so, thanks. I came up with it because "Halloween" was originally the Druids' new year, and the spirits of the dead originally came back to join in the party, mostly, not to do mischief (except the mischief that comes with New Year's Eve parties, natch!). And today's the day we 'Merkins change our clocks, so it seemed right...
