When I was a kid, my mother took me to see a movie of Mozart's The Magic Flute (a film of the opera performed on stage, with the camera cutting to the face of a particular girl in the audience, to catch her reaction), and ever since then, it's been one of my favorites. Heck, it's a Fairy Tale, and anything starting with "Once Upon a Time" has me half-way hooked already.
So, since "The Magic Flute" was on Great Performances, tonight (sung in English, and choreographed/staged by the same woman who did The Lion King, with the same sorts of puppetry), I was there.
Now, I have Papageno's song (29-second midi) stuck quite firmly in my head.
(sigh)
It could be worse.
