had a wierd dream this morning....
Apr. 7th, 2003 09:42 pmDon't remember much of the beginning of it, 'cause I really had to pee, and couldn't spend much time thinking about it before getting out of bed, but there was a bit where we were rescuing books that some theif had thrown in the ocean, and a bit where we were trying to herd cats though a maze of cave tunnels, and a scene where there were rows of parked cars along the side of the road, and all their windows were shattered from hailstones.
And then, toward the end, someone told me (something like):
"Haven't you heard the news? Bush is dead."
Me (something like): "Terrorists?"
Other: "No, heart attack."
Me: "You mean Bush had the heart attack, and Chaney's alive?
Other: "Ironic, isn't it?"
Me: "I wonder if they'll hold the next election, or find some 'security' reason to postpone it."
Other: "We'll see..."
And then there was more "chatter 'round the water cooler" type talk along the lines of "I don't trust Ashcroft, do you?", and then I woke up, kicked the cat out of bed, and hurried to the toilet....

Re: herding cats...
Date: 2003-04-08 08:22 am (UTC)Hmmm... at the end of last summer, a really pretty white and grey cat started coming around our (Dad's) place. It's in the woods, and dad thinks some family who came up for the summer, just left it behind. :-(
When the weather was warm, it would come in the house through the open windows, and eat what the other cats didn't finish in the food dishes, but then the other cats and dog chased it off. So all through the winter, dad's been leaving food for it outside (He's named it SheHe, 'cause we don't know the gender). Lately, though, an mean-looking orange cat has showed up, and our cat has gotten cuts and scratches on ears and nose. SheHe has been around since September, and our cat had not been getting in fights, back then... So I suspect it's the orange cat.
So Dad has been waiting until he sees SheHe in the yard before putting food out for her/im. Maybe now, the cat will associate that big two-legged with food, and get over some of her/is shyness...
Actually, I talked with Dad on the phone about this, the night before I had the dream... maybe that's where the cat bit came from... though none of the cats were white and gray, or orange...
