What Magickal Tradition Do You Belong In?
brought to you by Quizilla
I'm not exactly sure what this means. Does that mean I do try to break all boundaries, or that I'd better start, or else?
In any case, there were several questions I didn't quite agree with any choices on, and many of them, I flipped a coin.... Maybe I'll start my own Magickal tradition! :-Þ
Either that, or go back and give alternate answers to see if I get a different result...

Well, it takes time to rally enough people together to start a whole new trad, and I have a meeting to get to in 10 minutes, so I went for the second option, and this was my other result:
You are a Dreamspeaker, caterer to the Spirit World
and protector of the most ancient ways.

So -- is that like "Storyteller"? If so, that seems a better fit...

DREAMSPEAKERS - From prehistoric times, Dreamspeakers have wandered the meandering paths of Ascension alone, meeting occasionally to compare journeys but more often communicating through spirit messengers. With the aid of drum-beats and other rituals, these shamans enter the Dreamlands and converse with spirits; many even shapechanging into the animal-forms of their guardian familiars. Dreamspeakers are one of the two most primal of Traditions - those who seek insight and attunement with the Worlds. They work less from *service* than from *respect* and *harmony*. Nevertheless, they can be quite brutal. Nature magick often requires self-mortification or symbolic death. Undisputed masters of animism, Dreamspeakers occupy the Seat Of Spirit.
Also...
CULT OF ECSTASY - From the cults of Bacchus to Woodstock, there have always been those who believe that free action and self-expression can lead to something greater, whether this is heightened awareness or revolution. The Cult Of Ecstasy was formed by such people. In the realm of their experiences, no simuli can be ignored. They open the floodgates to all six passions; taste, touch, hearing, sight, smell and awareness. A Cultist can find deep meaning in a gourmet meal or home-brewed alcohol, dance or love-making, heavy metal or sonnets, Cubist art or psychedelic drugs. All passions are constructive in their own way.
Cultists rarely push their agenda; every Cultist (and likeminded Sleeper) is left to his/her own devices. At the same time, no one will take responsibilty for his.her actions but themself. Paradoxically, this most uninhibited Tradition is also one of the most disciplined. The Cult Of Ecstasy occupies the Seat Of Time.

Needless to say Mage is a rather involved and mature role-playing game that really does make you think at times. :)

Well, I think so, in any case...
And I definitely go for the "They work less from *service* than from *respect* and *harmony*. " bit...
As for the rest -- while I haven't done it ritualistically (or at least, not though consciously magical ritual on the part of those performing it), I suppose I have gone through several "symbolic deaths" early in my life, in the forms of 4 orthopedic surgeries: Being sent into a death-like, dreamless, sleep, then having my body cut open, my bones and/or muscles reshaped, and then brought back "to the world of the living". If that's not a resurrection ordeal of shamanistic proportions, I don't know what is (except perhaps cutting out the anasthesia)!
