Song for the day:
Apr. 18th, 2003 11:08 pmTaken from the Mudcat Cafe Digital Tradition folksong database:
IT RAINS (round)
(1) It rains when it wants to rain, and
(2) Rains its rainy course, and
(3) When it thinks it's rained enough, why
(4) Then it stops, of course.
click to play a simple version of the tune
Guess what the weather's been like the last two days?
Yesterday evening, my neighbor mowed my lawn... 24 hours later, the grass is looking shaggy again.
Reminds me of the lyrics from the Paul Simon song Further to Fly (From his Rhythm of the Saints album):
The open palm of desire
Wants everything
It wants everything
It wants soil as soft as summer
And the strength to push like spring
Oh, that strenth to push like spring is Amazing!
