So... I'm sitting here, not doin' much, except playing Bubble Bees. When all of a sudden, just now, I hear a brief, almost frantic scratching that sounds like claws scratching on the outside of my office window.

Maybe it was one of these little guys.

I had a southern flying squirrel invade my house back when I lived in Arkansas. He was just clinging to the curtains and looking cuuuute.

So I coaxed him into a cardboard box and released him outside.

Oh, flying squirrels are darling. They're pretty much in every part of the country, except for a few places in the southwest, and pretty much in every backyard. We hardly know about them, though, because they are nocturnal...

In some regions (Parts of New York State, iirc), they are called "fairy diddles." That's how cute they are!
