Got an email from the NaNoWriMo People, on Sunday, saying that they're shutting down the website September 24-30, to get ready for the '07 write-a-thon. Since I was using last year's NaNo to push myself through Father's dying process without going mad, the notice that it's been nearly a year since his final end, this has Raised Issues[tm], and I'm not sure whether I'm up for it, or not... I never did revise my rough draft, like I said I was going to, last year -- like my first NaNovel, my second is just an elaborate virtual doorstop, for someplace in cyberspace.
I did more planning the second year than I did the first, and the book turned out better than it did the first, so if I do it again, I'm thinking I should do even more planning (like, even writing an outline, and stuff!). So I should probably decide within the next week if I will or not.
Should I? or Shouldn't I?

I think you should.

Good luck

Date: 2007-09-27 06:19 pm (UTC)Good point. And my aide is thinking of doing it again, this year (she skipped, last year). So maybe I can work out going with her to local writers' meetups. If I use this as an oportunity to do something new, maybe that will help keep the old grey ghosts at bay, for a bit...
