Woken up around 3:30 / 4:00 this morning

capri0mniby a sudden, very close, very intense, brief thunderstorm (less than 2 seconds between the lightening and the thunder). I didn't catch the weather reports on the evening news, so I don't know if it was forcast or not... but in any case, it was a complete surprise to me... eventually, it quieted down again, and I went back to sleep.
Sometime between then, and waking up at 9:20 am, I had a very vivid dream where I "knew" all of the people... and yet none of them were people from my waking life. I was just an observer, moving among them, sympathizing with them, and knowing parts of their life stories without knowing what was going to happen to them.
In other words, I was dreaming in fiction>.
That used to happen all the time in my dreams, 10-15 years ago (I once even wrote a complete novel inspired by a series of dreams), but eventually, I stopped having those sorts of dreams and had more of the usual about-the-dreamer sorts.
So, today, I used what I remembered of the dream as the starting point for today's new story beginning. I figure if I reward my mind by using the dreams it gives me in my waking life, it ("she"?) will reward me by giving me more dreams to use and learn from.
So, now, I may turn my attention to that song idea I had ... the one about the best mirrors being the eyes of a friend...
