That icon's excellent.

In addition to Dadabhai Naoroji's support for equal enfranchisement for women, he also started literacy programmes for women in India. He's a much respected political hero in India.

Thanks. Glad you like it. As usual, most of the fiddling involved deciding how to crop it, and where to place the words, so they'd be readable.

Literacy is a powerful technology. I balk at the idea that it's a must-have for a rich and meaningful culture, but for a society to be fully functioning, all people within that society must have equal access to powerful technologies.

Yes. I've seen that photo, somehere on my LJ f'list, and that's where I got the slogan. I forget who that is, though: someone in Doctor Who-dom, I presume, knowing my f'list.
