Here, there be monsters:

I felt the need to doodle tonight. So here are the "mythical creature combinations" invented by those friends who answered my recent poll. These are very hastily sketched, and I was, truth be told, paying absolutely no attention whatsoever to things like orientation, proportion, or perspective.
The funny looking squiggles around the heads of some of them are meant to be puffs of smoke, for those beasts who are fire-breathers.
Behind the cut.

spooforbrains suggested the Kraaken and Minataur. It's
jekesta's Salt (salmon and ant).
rob_t_firefly wanted a drog (duck and frog). And I bet
gordon_r_d would cuddle a catarmadillo, fire breath or not.

Date: 2008-06-01 04:43 pm (UTC)Is it the size of an ant, and live in colonies? Or is it more salmon-sized and live solo?
Is it a land animal? Or a sea monster? And if it lives in the sea, how does it breathe fire?
And so forth...

It's just that when one comes upon a new creature, it ALWAYS raises questions. Just look at all those poor paleontologists, when they uncover a new set of bones...

Date: 2008-06-01 11:14 pm (UTC)Hmmm... "Minotaur" literally means "Bull of Minos," so maybe if we mix in the Greek for "sea," mayhaps?
Or maybe old Norse?
