I can has Photoshop? Yes! I CAN has!
Sep. 21st, 2008 04:27 pmFirst, I must say that my worst habit is treating my mailbox as Dirk Gently treats his refrigerator. Yes, I know that is Not Good.
Anyway, yesterday, I finally got through sorting out all the spam, and snuggled in amongst the unpleasant and the inane, was a package from
alryssa; she sent me a spare disk of Photoshop she doesn't need anymore.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
I haven't tried it yet, because I have one of those Stupid-making headaches, and I'm not up to even attempting to learn anything new today, no matter how straight forward. But I just wanted to say Thanks.
She also sent me a dvd of the first season of Due South. I am familiar with the series -- Dad and I would watch it together when it first aired. I just haven't seen it since then, and my memory is foggy. I think it was Dad who found it first, and got me watching.
It will be odd watching it without him here, I think... And again, I'm reminded how sorry I am that you guys never got a chance to meet him, or he you. *sigh*.
Oh, and
alryssa also sent a very lovely card. And for those who only know her through words on the monitor, let me tell you: she has lovely handwriting. :-)

Date: 2008-09-22 03:34 am (UTC)Oh, I'm sorry for bringing that memory up for you. I didn't know. :/
(also, my handwriting was being on its best behaviour that day, because it's usually illegible even to me)

Date: 2008-09-22 06:19 am (UTC)After all, what's the good of having memories, if you never take them out and look at them, once in a while?
But yeah, I did like Due's South's humor and characturization. :-) Just made me think again how much you and Dad would have liked each other, that's all.
Give your handwriting a cookie. Mine is so bad, my cursive was expelled from school (forbidden to write script from the third grade on). So maybe I'm just admiring yours in comparison.

Date: 2008-09-22 07:56 am (UTC)I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it when you have time to watch it. Fraser is my clear favourite, because he's so complex as a character. As if that wasn't OBVIOUS after all the raving I've done previously...
